Massages

Massage is the manipulation of body tissues to produce therapeutic effects usually using an oil or cream medium.

  • Increases blood supply to the muscles which increases detoxification and metabolism resulting in improved muscle condition.
  • Reduces pain, stiffness and muscle fatigue and aids tissue repair and recovery.
  • Improves muscle elasticity by stretching fibres and breaking down adhesions that have resulted from poor posture, tension or injury.
  • Increased circulation nourishes the structures around joints.
  • Increased lymph circulation speeds up waste removal.
  • Massage induces warmth that relieves tension and causes a relaxed state. Mental stress can be released.
  • Improved skin condition and dispersal of fat cells.
  • Massage can be stimulating to increase energy levels.

Treatment

After a consultation a treatment will typically last for 1hr.

Stretching and pressure point work is employed where needed.

The client is covered at all times and feedback illicited to ensure appropriate pressure and technique is used and is tolerable.

Exercises can be recommended for client to employ as a maintenance and prevention routine to do at home.

How Often

The benefit of massage is cumulative. You will feel good following a massage and for some hours afterwards. Regular massage will prolong the feeling of wellbeing for ever increasing periods after each treatment.
